CoinGlass data shows Bitcoin and Ethereum funds leading a sharp reversal after a strong late-September inflow run

Crypto exchange-traded funds lost $311.9 million in net outflows in a single trading session, according to data from CoinGlass. Research tied to the CoinGlass figures places that day at October 6, 2026.

The numbers behind the exodus

The $311.9 million figure covers net flows across crypto ETFs. That means withdrawals beat new deposits by that amount once everything was netted out.

CoinGlass data flagged a $650.6 million outflow figure, reported around October 7-8, as the largest withdrawal seen in 30 days.

Bitcoin spot ETFs have carried much of the weight. In one Thursday session in October, Bitcoin funds alone posted $244 million in net outflows.

Ethereum funds piled on with a $72.5 million withdrawal of their own. Combined, the negative run stretched to eight straight days and totaled $641.3 million for the asset class.

Zoom out to the month so far and the picture gets heavier. Cumulative October outflows from Bitcoin ETFs approached $407 million, according to the research. Ethereum ETFs saw approximately $579 million in withdrawals by early October.

From September surge to October chill

Late September was a strong stretch for crypto funds, with more than $3.3 billion flowing into Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP ETFs. Bitcoin products alone pulled in $2.4 billion in a single week during that period.

As of mid-2026, total crypto ETF assets under management stood at approximately $117 billion. That pool was spread across 32 active products from 11 different issuers.

CoinMarketCap acquired CoinGlass on September 25, 2026, and the platform has since become a key source of real-time crypto ETF flow information.
