The Nasdaq-listed firm spent about $2.43 million on its latest purchase as it doubles down on Solana as its core treasury asset

DeFi Development Corp. went shopping again. The Nasdaq-listed company picked up 22,070 SOL, worth about $2.43 million, adding to a treasury that has become its main reason for existing.

The purchase lifted the value of its holdings to approximately $284.9 million. For a company that rebranded its entire business around one token, that is less a side bet and more a mission statement.

The latest buy, by the numbers

The 22,070 SOL acquisition is the newest entry in a steady run of purchases. In the prior week, the company added 26,203 SOL, which brought the value of its holdings to roughly $284.9 million at the time.

The bigger picture is even more striking. As of early October 2026, the firm’s treasury reached approximately 2.564 million SOL and SOL equivalents, valued at about $302 million.

Since restarting active purchases in late August 2026, DeFi Development Corp. has increased its position by more than 226,000 SOL and equivalents. That growth comes from two sources: outright buying and rewards earned from staking.

How the machine works

The firm runs its own Solana validators. Validators are the computers that process transactions and secure the network, and they earn rewards for doing that work. By operating its own, the company keeps more of those rewards rather than handing a cut to a third party.

DeFi Development Corp. has set up a variable rate Series C Perpetual Preferred Stock program, called CHAD, with a value of up to $300 million. The company has described it as an at-the-market program designed to fund further SOL accumulation without diluting its common stock.

Chief executive Joseph Onorati has been direct about what the company offers investors. He has said the treasury model provides

“leveraged exposure to Solana”

From pivot to treasury vehicle

DeFi Development Corp. did not start life as a Solana treasury. The company pivoted its business focus in April 2025, reorienting itself around accumulating SOL as its primary treasury asset.

Since then, it has positioned itself as a way for public market investors to get exposure to Solana through a stock ticker, DFDV, rather than through a crypto exchange or wallet. That positioning has made it one of the largest companies dedicated to building a SOL treasury.

For investors, the company offers a specific product: SOL exposure wrapped in equity. That appeals to institutions and individuals who cannot or will not hold tokens directly, whether because of mandates, custody concerns, or simple preference for a brokerage account.

There are clear risks to watch. The CHAD program’s ability to raise capital will shape how fast the company can keep buying. A sustained drop in SOL would test both the treasury’s value and investor patience with the “leveraged exposure” pitch.

The other thing to track is the cadence. Weekly purchases of 26,203 SOL and then 22,070 SOL suggest a deliberate rhythm rather than opportunistic one-off buys.
